Erich McVey Workshop Part Two

gray-wedding-inspiration

More beautiful images from Erich McVey, taken at his workshop held in Elk, California last June. Ginny Au styled the whole workshop to her perfection with her style that looks natural and un-fussy. I feel so lucky to have been able to contribute to this.  Ginny had ancient words that she used as a jumping off point to style each of these looks. The couple and table here were “nubivigant, a woman who is moving among the clouds.”

This tablescape was so simple and pretty. Those sculptures are made by a Salt Lake City local! Colour Maisch makes the most beautiful, delicate pieces of art that went on the sort of un-done table that Ginny dreamed up.

That little fern and berry bouquet is one of my favorites to date, something I would carry if I were getting married in the forest overlooking the coast.

These last few photos of the girl  in the forest with just a vine wrapped up her arm was  “Brontide, the low roll of distant thunder”. This woman wouldn’t have a bouquet of course….I imagine it is hard to hold a bouquet if you are distant thunder. She was powerful and bold, barefoot in the forest. We gave her just some light vines to wear.

Teaching in China Part Two

red-garden-bouquet-ideas

These are photos from my second time visiting China in 2014 to teach natural style floral design at Cohim school. Just as last time, I completely loved my students and my experience there. We had so many wonderful fall flowers and foliage to play with, I was in heaven. Teaching has been such an incredible experience for me, I love being forced to dive deeper into my own philosophies and being challenged to communicate that well. I had the most wonderful team of people at Cohim to help arrange this and translate for me. Thank you Judy, Chris, Perry, and Sherlove!

Jose Villa Workshop Part III

water-color-invitation-ideas

Again, I feel really lucky to have been able to provide florals for Jose Villa’s workshop in Mexico this past November. Jose Villa is a leader in the industry, and has inspired so many people to take up photography, or perfect what they already know. He has set a new standard for event photographers. He loves the details as much as the people creating them, and he captures them with love. These are photos from the details shoot at his workshop.

A huge thanks to Gabriela who is a florist in Mexico City. She sourced these local flowers for me to work with at the workshop. She has an incredible eye and I owe so much of this credit to her!

Jose Villa Workshop Part II

simple-greeen-ceremony-ideas

This Day at Jose Villa’s workshop was probably my favorite. I loved being able to create this wild ceremony installation. Collaborating with all of the incredibly talented people that Jose brought on board for the workshop was such a treat.

The blush colored Emily Rose Riggs gown matched the flowers and Silk and Willow ribbon I had on the bouquet perfectly. Can you see the mock orange blooms in the white bouquet? Gabriela was a floral sourcing wizard for me and found some local blooming mock orange in November! They were the perfect bright little blooms for this look.
