This is Liz and Brian’s wedding, beautiful photos by Leo Patrone
. I am so thankful to Leo for capturing flowers so beautifully. Sometimes I want to cry when I deliver a wedding because its hard to give flowers away and know I will never see them again. This is never the case though when Leo is the photographer, I get beautiful flower pictures like this every time!
I absolutely loved this little wedding. It was simple and sweet, everything a backyard summer wedding should be. When I went to a site visit here I asked the home owner if we could store some things in a shed off of the main lawn area so that it was easy to get to after the ceremony for a quick set up. She said no, that the squirrels had taken over the shed. We opened the door to look in and there were piles of acorns spilling over every surface in the shed. I loved it, and wanted to move in.

I loved Jessica and Dan’s dinner venue. It was private property in the mountains, fully equipped with a small lake, a river, a teepee, and a woodsy forest. Jessica designed some really fun paper goods for her wedding for all of their guests who would be coming from New York. There were Utah survival guide pamphlets complete with encyclopedia-like definitions of animals and other things you might see in Utah.
I loved these flowers. I had every shade of everything between cream and purple for this wedding.
It was a perfect wild mix of flowers, fitting for August in Utah.
A few flower photos by Melissa Kelsey
, from the rainiest wedding we worked on this fall.
This was one of those events where we were watching the doppler radar so that as soon as the weather passed we could all run outside with bar towels and wipe the ceremony chairs off, shake the water off the flowers, and then summon the guests to be seated.
The ceremony allllmost got rained out.
As stressful as it is, I love being behind the scenes.
Its so fun to to have to work like crazy for a while through something like a rainstorm, then sit back and watch a wedding go off perfectly (while sweating and simultaneously dripping wet with rain-oh and 8 months pregnant for this one).

Just in case you are tired of winter and you are thinking about summer……
here is a dose for you.
I took a bunch of transplants from my aunt’s garden a couple of years ago.
I took them in the late fall and I couldn’t remember what she told me any of them were because they were all just babies at the time. Turns out I got a lot of these from her and they grow to be about 8 feet tall! They were such a fun surprise.
