These photos are from a 1:1 workshop I did with a student in the Fall of 2015. I love these workshops where I get to spend a few days with one person, and really dive into designing with them. In this class over the course of to days we covered table centerpieces, large arrangements, bouquets, boutonnieres, lower crowns, and a floral arch.
This centerpiece arrangement is one of my favorite color combinations. I love the way that the reds and mauves mix to create this color palette that reminds me of all the colors in a fig. The red foliage in here was cut from a coleus plant, this is one of my favorite tricks for getting interesting colored foliage.
This arch and large arrangement incorporate a lot of bright yellow foliage trimmed from Tree of Heaven that I have in my yard. Its not the greatest tree to have, but I keep it just to cut from! The branches are strong and have great shape. The arch is covered in a lot of wild clematis fluffs, another fall favorite of mine.
