Jo and Andrew’s wedding still feels a little bit like a fuzzy dream to me.
I was able to go to Ireland to create flowers for their wedding, and partnered with Hana of Hanako for the job. Hana is an incredible woman, who has been doing flowers her whole life. She had already worked so hard sourcing flowers and foraging before I even got there, she even grew many of the flowers we used the wedding herself!
Working with the planners Pearl and Godiva was incredible. Details were very important to the bride and groom, and Pearl and Godiva’s team and executed them all so well. I was amazed at how perfectly every detail fit in place. It was so beautiful to watch many days of events unfold flawlessly, as Hana and I shuffled back and forth between our workspace and the event rooms with flowers for them. It was truly a joy, I loved every rainy Irish minute of it.
I spent a couple of weeks after the wedding wandering around Ireland with my family, and I am aching to go back. We stayed in thatched cottages on the seaside, hiked mossy mountains, and got lost in forests of giant oak and beech trees that have been alive longer than the US has been a country. Ireland, I’ll be back for you.
